Research

Transient metalloprotein structural dynamics studies on multiple spatial (local metal binding sites to global protein tertiary/quaternary structures) and temporal (10-15 – 10-3 seconds) during enzymatic function using time-resolved optical (ultrafast and nanosecond transient absorption and emission spectroscopy) and X-ray (XAS, XES, SAXS, WAXS, X-ray) transient absorption and scattering methods and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation to investigate correlations between metallo-active site structures of a metalloenzyme and their functions through high resolution simultaneous structural “snapshots” of the active site during different biologically relevant processes.
